Chinese Valentine's Day





The Chinese Valentine's Day,also known as The Begging Festival or The Daughter's Festival,is the most romantic traditional festival in china.It comes on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month on which people celebrate it by a variety of ways.The origin of the festival is a beautiful love myths passed down form generation to generation.

A long time ago,there was an honest and kind-hearted fellow named Niu Lang.His parents both died and he lived with his only brother.Anfortunately his sister-in-law treated him badly.One day,a fairy from heaven Zhi Nu,the seventh daugther of the Jade Emperor,who was the most powerful deity,came down to earth secretly and fell in love with him.Dispity the rulers,they got married and gave to birth to a boy and a girl.They lived a happy and peaceful life.

But good things never last.One day, when Niu Lang farmed in the field as ususl,the Queen Mother found Zhi Nu and wanted to take her back to the heaven.Immediately Niu Lang arrive home,he flew to purse his wife which his childen.But the Queen Mother Conjured up a river in front of him.So Niu Lang and Zhi Nu were separated on the two banks of river forever.They fainly turnned to Cowherd and Weaver Maid,and the river turnned to Milky river.Then the fairies were moved by their loyal love and allowed them to meet each other one time a year on the 7th of the 7th lunar month.One the special day ,all magpies in the world fly to build a bridge on the Milky river for them.

If you believe this story ,you can even hear some words between Niu Lang and Zhi Nu,but you have to hide in a small cabin in Chinese Valentine's Day night.
